COVID 19 VACCINE: A RAINBOW AT THE END OF THE RAIN

“There’s always a rainbow at the end of the rain”, at least that’s how most would phrase it; it has been almost officially 2 years since we have undergone rigorous lockdowns. Many things have changed ever since covid-19, hast it? Our lifestyles have changed, our habits, routines.  Honestly it felt like all the 2 years went by so fast yet so slow. It has been extremely difficult for most of us, especially for our mental well-being. But as what I quoted a while ago, there’s a rainbow in the end of the rain, as vaccines becoming available, it has shed down rays of hope for all of us.

A vaccine stimulates the body’s immune response against diseases, they are usually administered through needle injections. Getting vaccinated against covid-19 is greatly important because it lowers your risk of getting infected with the deadly virus. Though there are some possible side effects that come after getting vaccinated including fever, redness or pain in the injection site, but they are all pretty normal.

The first batched of covid-19 vaccines was first given to the frontliners, adults and senior citizens. But, In the later part of 2021, vaccines for ages 12-17 were available in the Philippines. And earlier this year, COVID-19 Immunizations were as well available for children aged 5 to 11. This gave us even more hope to slowly go back to normal. Some schools are now conducting face-to-face classes, while also practicing the health protocols of course, and more establishments opening. But of course, there are some but included, don’t overestimate the power of the vaccines. There are still some that already got the vaccine doses and still got infected with the covid-19 virus.

Overall, vaccines are important because it lessens our risk from the covid-19 virus and gives protection to our immune system. But even if we are already vaccinated doesn’t mean we are safe from the virus. We should still practice health protocols.
