Our Earth, Our Responsibility

Our Earth is a special made place created by God for us to live in. He sent us here to be its protectors. The last few decades have been time of dynamic changes in our world, as we strive to evolve our society to technology. However, these achievements and changes have come at a significant cost to the environment. Increasing demand for energy, food, water, and other resources has resulted in resource depletion, pollution, environmental degradation and climate change, pushing the earth towards its environmental limits. All these problems are the result of our own actions.

But it is not too late to create change and help our planet. There are ways to protect and care for our environment.

1.      Planting trees

-          As we cut down trees, we should also plant more to replace the chopped ones. This will bring back the greenery in our forests and hold the land.

2.      Conserving water

-          Water is a very crucial for us. Every drop matters so we should learn to conserve and use water responsibly.

3.      Choose reusable over single use

-          Example of these is choosing to use tumblers instead of plastic bottles. All the single use plastics must eventually go somewhere, and it has a devastating effect to our soil and marine life.

4.      Switching off/conserving energy

-          Switching off computers, ac, lights that are not in use and much more. It will help lessen the heat that causes global warming in our planet.

5.      Waste segregation

-          Make it a habit to separate our garbage in their respective kind, it is useful in easily identifying which is can be recycled, made into other products and so on.

It is our responsibility to protect and care for our planet. With humans now consuming more resources than ever before, the current patterns of development across the world are not sustainable. It may be hard to restore our environment to what it once was, but we cannot loose hope. We will slowly recover our beautiful home to its greenery.
